WVU College of Business and Economics — Quick Facts
The WVU College of Commerce was born by order of the state higher education board on Nov. 10, 1951 and has been known as the College of Business and Economics since 1971.
The College offers six bachelor's, six master's, and one doctoral degree. With an undergraduate enrollment of approximately 923, the College has more than 18,000 alumni worldwide. Business programs at the WVU College of Business & Economics are accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
In its 2006 edition, U.S. News & World Report ranks West Virginia University’s College of Business and Economics among the top quartile of AACSB-accredited undergraduate programs in the country. Of the 504 programs eligible, B&E is ranked 116th. Among public institutions, the WVU College of Business & Economics is ranked 89th.
