West Virginia University's College of Business and Economics invites Generation Morgantown members to an economic outlook seminar to learn how to prepare for the future on Thursday, May 23. Come listen to Dr. Paul Speaker, Ph.D, Associate Professor Finance & Economics at WVU, and Carrie Wood, Associate Director of Executive MBA Programs, for an opportunity to further your education while maintaining momentum in your career.
Paul J. Speaker is a faculty member of the West Virginia University Finance Department. Dr. Speaker also holds the position of Vice President of Operations Management Consultants LLC and the position of President of Forensic Science Management Consultants, LLC, which specializes in the business of forensics using the forensics of business.
Dr. Speaker's research activity is concentrated in economic modeling of regulated industries, financial modeling and simulation for a variety of for-profit and not-for-profit industries, the role of not-for-profit institutions, and the impact of technology. His teaching areas include corporate finance and financial institutions. He has been active with curriculum design, integration of material across academic disciplines, and deployment of distance technology.
Wood came to WVU with a background in marketing and 15 years of sales experience. After earning her Associate's Degree in Computer Programming from Miami University and Bachelor's degree in Marketing from University of Toledo, she started her sales career with Owens Corning Fiberglas. She later sold for Lipton & Lawry's, Carnrick Pharmaceuticals, and John Wieland Homes before moving to Morgantown to direct her marketing talents towards the EMBA program.
