West Virginia University’s 14-month accelerated MBA program is ideal for someone seeking to change careers or enhance job opportunities. Whether your background is in liberal arts, the sciences or business, WVU has a place for you.
The College of Business and Economics firmly believes in the global perspective. In joining WVU’s MBA program, your classroom experience will be enriched by teamwork with students from across the world - 44% of our current MBA class is comprised of international students from three continents. Additionally, all domestic MBA students participate in a ten-day international trip in Europe or Asia as part of the coursework.

Beginning the first week of your program, staff from the Center for Career Development will work with you on your resume review, interviewing skills, and networking, preparing you for the competitive job market.
Accredited and Affordable
WVU’s MBA program is accredited by AACSB International, the principal accrediting organization for business schools. Only 5% of business schools worldwide achieve this distinction.
WVU’s MBA program is one of the most affordable programs in West Virginia and the country. We offer competitive tuition waivers and scholarships and subsidize the required international trip you will pursue as part of your program.
MBA with an Emphasis in Finance
MBA students may take selected classes for an additional semester to earn an Emphasis in Finance. Students pursuing the Emphasis take Investments as an elective in the second summer semester, and then take four finance courses in the fall semester: Quantitative Finance, Financial Reporting and Analysis, Equity and Fixed Income Investments, and Portfolio Management. Students staying an additional year after completing the core requirements may choose four finance classes from the seven offered in fall and spring to constitute the finance emphasis. Spring offerings include Advanced Corporate Finance, Derivative Securities and Alternative Investments. A 3.0 grade point average in all finance courses must be earned for the emphasis to be awarded.
Two Years, Two Degrees
The College offers the option for students to earn two degrees in two years in the areas of MBA/MS in Finance; MBA/MS in Human Resources and Industrial Relations; and MBA/MS in Sport Management.
