Academic Dishonesty

In instances when an instructor can substantiate that cheating or plagiarism has occurred, the faculty member is encouraged to follow the guidelines for academic dishonesty as outlined by the Office of Student Conduct. Sanctions may include:

  • Assignment of a grade of F on the project, paper, examination, etc. or a reduction in letter grade (at the end of the term)
  • Assignment of a failing grade in the course (at the end of the term)
  • Assignment of an Unforgiveable F in the course (instructor assigns no grade at the end of term; Office of Student Judicial Affairs issues the Unforgiveable F)
  • Other acceptable sanction (agreed upon by the instructor and student)
