WVU B&E
Commencement 2014
May 2014

DEAR ALUMNI, FRIENDS, & STUDENTS,

Dean Sartarelli

It continues to be an indescribable honor for me to witness and participate in the graduation ceremonies at the WVU College of Business and Economics. College graduation is one of those milestones in life when dreams are fulfilled. And is there anything more exciting than to have one’s dreams fulfilled?

This month’s Commencement exercises at the WVU Coliseum provided the stage for this incredible rite of passage for more than 500 undergraduate and graduate students. For the College, it is the ultimate satisfaction to graduate its students, having prepared them for the global marketplace and, even more importantly, having had the opportunity to prepare them for life.

This fulfillment of dreams comes in many different forms. In some cases, dreams become reality for students who are the first to graduate from college in their families. These first-generation graduates many times have had to face very unique conditions to have their dreams realized, making such occasions even more memorable.

The graduates we send out into the world are not only a reflection of their upbringing and the life experiences they had before they arrived at B&E, but are also representatives of the life learning they experienced while on the WVU campus.

Please join me in congratulating and celebrating these outstanding graduates, the newest group of ambassadors and alumni of B&E and WVU. They are the inspiration that keeps us working hard toward our vision of “Better. Bigger. Ranked.”

Regards,
Jose V. Sartarelli, Ph.D.
Milan Puskar Dean
