WVU B&E
WVU College B&E 2014 Incoming Freshman Class
August 2014

DEAR ALUMNI, FRIENDS, & STUDENTS,

Dean Sartarelli

There’s something very special about the electricity at the College of Business and Economics, now that a new academic year is under way. We have welcomed more than 450 new freshmen to the College, and welcomed back underclassmen for another year.

Yet this is not the same B&E it was a year ago. There are new programs — such as Hospitality & Tourism Management, our newest major — as well as Supply Chain Management and M.S. Finance - Energy area of emphasis. We have new members of our B&E Family, as we continue to recruit high quality faculty and staff. And there are numerous examples of improved resources for students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

But we all — students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors and friends of the College — are beneficiaries of a significant change at B&E. Our collective hard work over the past few years has helped to elevate the College from a good business school to a vibrant one. There is momentum and excitement about WVU’s business school, and we are right at the epicenter.

We enter this new academic year a better College than we once were because of hard work, the same kind of hard work we have come to expect from the B&E students who will excel in their respective programs, thrive in internships, hone their skills and interests in activities and clubs, and graduate with the skills and knowledge to propel them into the global marketplace.

A new academic year renews and rejuvenates us, and reminds us of the major steps we have taken toward becoming “Better. Bigger. Ranked.”

Regards,
Jose V. Sartarelli, Ph.D.
