DEAR ALUMNI, FRIENDS, & STUDENTS,
As we near the completion of another academic year, students are busy with what lies ahead for them—the end of the semester push, graduation, summer classes, internships and jobs. During this time of change, our students and parents can rest assured that the decision to get an education at B&E was a good one.
The newest Bloomberg Businessweek Return on Investment (ROI) ranking has WVU at #9 out of 124 top-ranked business schools. This is proof of our commitment to attract high-quality students and give them the education and tools to earn high-paying jobs upon graduation.
The quality of our students is a mirror reflection of our College as a whole. This month, we honored 33 students who were presented with awards for the PNC Roll of Academic Excellence, which recognizes undergraduate students who received a 4.0 GPA for three of the four semesters during their junior and senior years. Anthony Zabiegalski, our impressive student feature, is among these PNC Scholars. Additionally, 54 students were inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the most prestigious recognition a business student can receive.
Read about students who contributed time and effort to raising money for WVU Children's Hospital. Or take a look at B&E's Corporate Social Responsibility class which, in awarding $20,000 to local organizations, has presented some $220,000 over 11 years to area non-profit groups. More than 200 students have learned what philanthropy is all about.
Our graduate students are also making the news. MBA students competed this year in the Big 12 Conference Case Competition.
These students demonstrate grit, work ethic, academic excellence, ethical behavior, community responsibility, subject matter knowledge and good business sense. They are the best reflection of who we are and what we do at the College of Business and Economics. As we pursue our vision of "Better. Bigger. Ranked.," we never lose sight of our students. Well-educated graduates with great job opportunities in front of them are the best return on investment one can ever wish for.
