Residencies

The evening delivery method requires three residencies while the online delivery method requires four. Each 2-4 day residency focuses on experiential learning and topics and activities that cannot be captured in an online or short evening class environment. There will be one residency per semester, for a total of four residencies.  The evening cohort will not be required to participate in the Executive Project residency.

Orientation

The orientation will be an opportunity to get to know your classmates and faculty. You will form the teams that you will be working with for the duration of the program. The orientation will also include team-building activities, lectures, and exposure to WVU’s resources.

Washington Experience

This experience will allow you to examine the intersection of business and government, providing you with the necessary skills to anticipate, influence and respond intelligently to public policy initiatives. They will also examine strategic policy development and advocacy methods. Each session will be led by high-level, experienced practitioners of the public policy process gaining students access to excellent resources in the public policy arena as well as an enhanced network of executive peers.

Executive Project (Online program only)

Students will be given the opportunity to work through a business problem under the supervision of expert faculty. This can be an issue faced by their company, giving the student the opportunity to exhibit the skills and knowledge gained through their education and give back to their company, or the students could explore an entrepreneurial initiative. Students will come on campus to spend time with faculty who will mentor them through the process.

Mock Venture Capital Fair

The integrated global business capstone class is centered around Marketplace, a comprehensive business simulation. The business simulation requires participating teams to start and manage a personal computer manufacturing company from scratch in competition with other participating teams (your fellow classmates). The simulation is augmented by a mock venture capital fair where teams solicit and negotiate with venture capitalists for much needed growth capital. This will take place on WVU’s campus in your fourth semester.
