The WVU Chapter has been named an Exemplary Chapter for the 2008-09 year. This designation signifies that the Chapter took seriously the purpose of recognizing academic excellence by achieving at least a 70 percent membership acceptance rate during the last academic year.

On Friday, August 7, 2009 the College of Business and Economics honored 15 graduate students at an induction and award ceremony held at the College. Two of our honorees received a second certificate having qualified for membership first as undergraduates.
In April the College inducted and recognized 68 undergraduates into Beta Gamma Sigma during a ceremony held at the College. Undergraduates must rank in the top 10 percent of their class to be offered membership.
Also honored during this event were Beta Gamma Sigma Professors of the Year Paula Bone, Ph.D., Nathan Haddad Professor of Business Administration, and Paul Speaker, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Finance. Professor(s) of the year are chosen by current student members of Beta Gamma Sigma. The professor also must be a member of the society.
